Playback Theatre was founded in New York, 1975
The core and heart of this unique form of improv, invite the members of the audience to share their stories. the actors listen and turn them into brief magical empowering reflections on stage
Founders of the first PT company incorporated some of the methods used in psychodrama, improvisation and storytelling and created a new theatrical genre known all around the world as Playback Theatre
The stories are presented in short theatrical forms – scenes that are filled with images, metaphors, humor, drama and music
Personal stories from audience members become the inspiration and source of material for creative, magical and empowering moments on stage
All involved in this interactive theatrical ritual – the story tellers as well as the audience share a unique opportunity to take part in an uplifting and engaging performance that will leave all moved and touched by all that connects us as humans and empathetic souls
